See your first RSVP
What happens when a guest opens your event link, taps their answer, and confirms who they are — and how each reply shows up in your dashboard.
What happens when a guest opens your event link, taps their answer, and confirms who they are — and how each reply shows up in your dashboard.
You've built your event page, customized the look, and shared the link. Now a guest taps it on their phone. Here's what happens next — and why this is the moment Rendezvous was built for.
Your guest taps the link you shared — in a text, an email, a WhatsApp message,
wherever. They land on your event page, on your own subdomain
(your-event.rendez.us), with your theme and your content. It looks like
your event, not a generic form.
The answer comes first. Every visitor sees the three response buttons — Going, Maybe, and Can't make it — directly on the event page (you can turn Maybe off if you'd rather a clean yes-or-no). Your guest taps one before anything else. No form to open, no sign-in wall in the way: the response is captured the moment they decide.
Once they've tapped an answer, we confirm who they are so the response attaches to the right person. Your guest signs in with a one-time code sent to the email or phone number you have for them, or by continuing with Google or Facebook — whichever they prefer (no password to remember), and their answer is recorded automatically. They never see a separate "now pick your status" step. And a guest who taps their personal invite link skips even this: the link signs them in automatically, with no code at all.
If you sent a personal invite link (the /i/... link), it's quicker still: that link is already verified for that one guest, so they land back on the event page already responded, and can change their answer with a single tap.
As your guest confirms their email, Rendezvous checks it against your guest list. If it matches an invite, the response attaches to that existing guest — your dashboard updates the invite you already have instead of creating a duplicate.
What happens when the email doesn't match depends on your event's privacy:
With their answer saved, your guest lands on a confirmation screen — a clear "You're going!" with "Your RSVP has been confirmed" and a recap of your event's date, time, and location. If you've enabled plus-ones, or attached any questions to the RSVP, the same card expands to gather those before it saves — plus-ones (each with their own status), your questions, and add-to-calendar all in one go, not a second journey. A guest who arrived by magic link is also offered an optional, skippable step to add their own email, so they can manage their RSVP later under an address they control — even if you invited them by phone or a different email.
Right there on the screen, a guest who's Going or Maybe gets an Add to calendar row with Google, Apple, and Outlook links, so the date lands in their calendar before they close the tab. A View event page button takes them back to the page, where they can update their response anytime — pre-filled with whatever they chose last time. The whole flow — from tapping the link to confirmed — takes under a minute.
Just after they confirm, your guest receives a confirmation email — subject
"RSVP confirmed for <your event>". Like every message Rendezvous
sends, it's on-brand: your event's cover image at the top, your accent color
throughout, and the date shown in your event's timezone. It recaps the event,
carries the same Add to your calendar links (a Google Calendar link plus
an Apple/Outlook .ics), and includes a button back to the event page where
they can change their RSVP. A friendly footnote reminds them they can change
their answer anytime, so nobody's ever stuck on a reply they made in a hurry.
The moment a guest submits their RSVP, your dashboard updates. Open your event under Manage and you'll find it in a few places:
| Where to look | What you'll see |
|---|---|
| Overview | The running RSVP tally — Going, Maybe, and Not going counts tick up |
| Guest List | The guest's status changes from pending to Attending, Maybe, or Declined, with any plus-ones |
| Response Log | A timestamped record of who responded and when, so you can see activity at a glance |
| Reports | Response rates, trends over time, and a breakdown by status |
Your guest just RSVP'd through a page that looks and feels like it was custom-built for your event. No Google Forms. No spreadsheet links. No "reply to this email." A real, professional event experience — and you built it in minutes.
That's what Rendezvous is for. And this is just the beginning — every RSVP from here is one less thing on your to-do list.
Now that responses are coming in, you have everything you need to manage them:
