I can't publish my event
Your event won't go live, or publishing is blocked. Here's the short checklist that fixes it almost every time.
Your event won't go live, or publishing is blocked. Here's the short checklist that fixes it almost every time.
You're ready to share your event, but it won't publish — the action is unavailable, or you see a message saying something's missing.
Good news: publishing is free on every plan, and there are only three things Rendezvous checks before your event can go live. Walk through them below and you'll be live in a couple of minutes.
Your event needs all three of these before it can go live:
| Requirement | Where to set it | Why it's needed |
|---|---|---|
| An event name | Event Details | It's the title guests see everywhere |
| An event date | Event Details | Guests need to know when to show up |
| At least one page section | Page Builder | There has to be a page to publish |
If any one is missing, publishing is held back and Rendezvous tells you which one to fix. Let's go through each.
Every event needs a name and a date before it can go live. A location is a lovely touch for your guests, but it's optional — it won't block publishing.
In your event dashboard, go to Event page → Details & access. This is where your event's core information lives.
Make sure both the event name and the date are set. If either is empty, that's your blocker.
Select Save. You'll see your changes confirmed, and that requirement is now met.
There needs to be something on your event page before you can publish it. If you've only filled in the details and haven't built the page yet, there's nothing to go live — so add at least one section in the Page Builder.
Go to Event page → Customize page.
Pick a template to get a full, ready-made page in one click, or add sections one at a time to build it your way. Either path gives you a page you can publish.
Save your page, then publish your event. With a name, a date, and at least one section in place, you're good to go.
If your event is already published but guests say they can't open it, the issue usually isn't publishing — it's your visibility setting.
Go to Event page → Details & access and find the Visibility options.
Choose how open your event should be:
If it's set to Draft, that's why guests are locked out. Switch it to the audience you want.
Select Save. Your live page will now be open to the audience you chose.
If you've added a name, a date, and at least one page section and still can't publish, contact support with your event name and a screenshot of the message you're seeing. We'll get you live.
