I hit a plan limit
You've reached a guest cap, run out of text messages, or tried to use a feature your plan doesn't include. Here's how limits work and how to get more room.
You've reached a guest cap, run out of text messages, or tried to use a feature your plan doesn't include. Here's how limits work and how to get more room.
You're moving along nicely and then you hit a wall: a message says you've reached your guest limit, you're out of text messages, or a feature you tapped is only available on a higher plan. This is completely normal, and every limit has a quick way around it. Let's sort out which one you've run into and get you unblocked.
Every plan includes a set number of guests, and the cap counts everyone on your list. Plus-ones count, and so do guests who replied Not going — declining frees up the room at your party, but it doesn't free up a spot on your guest list. Once you hit the cap, you can't add more guests until you make room, add a guest extension, or move to a higher plan. Here's what each plan includes:
| Plan | Guests included | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Up to 25 | Free |
| Standard | Up to 100 | per event |
| Premium | Up to 200 | per event |
| Professional | Custom (large or repeat events) | Get in touch |
Go to Manage > Guest List. Your guest count is shown at the top of the list, so you can see exactly where you stand against your plan's cap.
On a paid plan and just need a bit more room? Add a guest extension — +100 guests (the price is on the Plan page), from More > Event settings > Plan. You can stack as many as you like. See Guest extensions.
If you're on Free, moving up to Standard or Premium raises your guest cap and unlocks more features at once. See Upgrading your plan.
You can also free up space without spending anything — remove guests who've declined or were added by mistake from Manage > Guest List.
Some features unlock as you move up. Here's where the most-asked-about ones live:
| Feature | Free | Standard | Premium | | ---------------------------------- | :--: | :------: | :-----: | | Event page, subdomain & all themes | Yes | Yes | Yes | | RSVP tracking, guest feed & photos | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Email broadcasts & reminders | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Areas & seating | -- | Yes | Yes | | Advanced page builder & custom CSS | -- | Yes | Yes | | Full reports | -- | Yes | Yes | | QR check-in | -- | Yes | Yes | | Co-planners | -- | 2 | 5 | | Custom domain | -- | -- | Yes | | Text broadcasts (SMS) | -- | -- | Yes | | Scheduled broadcasts | -- | -- | Yes | | Priority support | -- | -- | Yes |
Check the message or tooltip you saw — it'll tell you which feature is locked and the plan that includes it.
Visit Plans comparison to see exactly what each plan includes side by side.
Go to More > Event settings > Plan and choose the plan that covers what you need. See Upgrading your plan.
SMS is pay-as-you-go on every plan, so there are no texts bundled in by default — you buy text messages and use them as you send. When your balance hits zero, SMS stops until you top up. Email always keeps sending for free, so your guests still hear from you.
| What you get | Details |
|---|---|
| A pack of text messages | 100 text messages for |
| What 1 text message covers | 1 SMS segment (about 160 characters of plain text) |
| When SMS stops | The moment your balance reaches zero |
Open Messages: how many you have left is at the top of the page. Expand Text message usage at the bottom to see what was used and the recent sends.
Buy a pack of 100 text messages with the button beside your balance at the top of Messages (the table above has the price); the message composer and the Guest List's Text invitations window offer one too when a send needs more. Your balance updates once the payment goes through.
Go to More > Event settings > Plan. Your current plan, guest usage and any active extensions are all shown here. Your text message balance is at the top of the Messages page.
You'll see how many guests you've used out of your cap and what extensions you've added, so you can decide whether to upgrade, extend, or simply tidy up your guest list.
