The Guest Companion
A small floating button on every event page that opens a personal, themed menu — for a guest it's their RSVP, their unanswered questions, announcements, photos and the day's details in one tap; for the host it's a live cockpit on their own page with the attendance pulse, a 'needs you' queue, quick actions, and a preview-as-guest toggle.
What is the Guest Companion?
The Guest Companion is a small floating button that sits in the bottom-right corner of your event page. Tap it and a themed menu opens — and what's inside depends entirely on who's looking.
For a guest, it's their personal hub for this one event: their RSVP, any questions still waiting for an answer, the latest announcements, a way to add photos or leave a wish, and the when-and-where with a one-tap add-to-calendar. It only ever shows the things you, the host, have turned on.
For you, the host, viewing your own live event page, the very same button becomes an at-a-glance cockpit: who's coming, who you're still waiting on, who can't make it, a short "needs you" list of things to action, a few quick actions, and a toggle to preview your page exactly as a guest sees it.
What guests see
The button, at rest
When there's nothing for a guest to do, the Companion is quiet — a small, themed button they can forget about. It carries no badge and makes no noise. It's designed to feel like a good concierge: present, never pushy.
The menu
Tapping the button opens a menu that greets the guest by name and shows a status chip for their RSVP (going, maybe, can't make it, or yet to reply). A guest only reads "You're going" when they hold a seat: a yes that's on the waitlist, waiting for your approval or turned down reads You're on the waitlist, Your spot is pending or Request declined instead — the same words their RSVP confirmation uses. Below that, only the rows that apply to your event appear:
| Row | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Your RSVP | Their response at a glance. Tapping it opens a small panel the page where they change their answer on the spot — plus-ones, questions and all. It never scrolls them off to hunt for the RSVP block, so it works even on a page that hasn't got one. |
