A clear schedule takes the guesswork out of your event. Whether you're hosting a two-hour gathering or a multi-day celebration, you can lay out a timeline so everyone knows where to be and what's next. You build it under More → Schedule in your dashboard, and your guests see a polished version of it on your event page.
Your schedule is built from two pieces:
For a simple event, select Add your first schedule item. Enter a title and start time; Rendezvous creates a Main event area for you. You can add a description or photo later. If you need separate rooms or tracks, choose Set up multiple areas instead.
In your event dashboard, go to More → Schedule.
Select Add Area. On a brand-new schedule, choose Set up multiple areas. For a single timeline, Add your first schedule item is the quickest start.
Give the area a name guests will recognize, like "Main Hall," "Garden," or "Workshop Room." Add an optional short description, choose an accent color, then select Add Area. If you've already mapped this space in Areas & Seating, the picker lets you reuse that existing area instead of creating a duplicate.
The color you pick becomes the accent for that area's entries on your event page, so guests can scan the timeline and tell at a glance what's happening where. If you have several areas, choose contrasting colors so they're easy to tell apart.
Each entry is one block on your timeline. To add one, open the area's menu and select Add entry, or use the Add entry button at the bottom of the area. A form opens where you can fill in:
| Field | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Title (required) | The name of the moment, like "Dinner Service" or "Opening Keynote." Keep it short. |
| Subtitle | An extra line under the title, perfect for a performer's name or a quick bit of context. |
| Start time (required) | When the entry begins. |
| End time | Optional. Leave it empty for open-ended entries. |
| Day | Shown only on multi-day events, so you can place the entry on the right day. |
| Description | A sentence or two of detail guests should know. |
| Image | An optional photo shown alongside the entry on your event page. |
Open Add a description or photo for the optional subtitle, description and image. When you're done, select Add Entry. Entries automatically sort by start time within their area, so you can add them in any order and the timeline stays tidy.
Every entry has a Visible to guests toggle. Turn it off and the entry stays in your dashboard but is hidden from guests, marked with a "Draft — Hidden" badge so you know it's not live yet. This is handy when you're still confirming a time or a speaker. Switch it back on when you're ready to share.
Rendezvous handles multi-day events naturally. When your event spans more than one day, the entry form shows a Day picker so you can place each entry on the correct day. Your guests see the timeline neatly grouped by day on the event page.
For events that run past midnight, like New Year's Eve parties, festivals, or late receptions, there's a simple rule that keeps things grouped the way people actually think:
Entries that start after midnight but before 6 AM are shown under the previous day's schedule.
So a DJ set from 11 PM to 2 AM, or an after-party at 1 AM, stays grouped with the evening it belongs to instead of being split across two days. Anything from 6 AM onward starts the new day.
After saving your first item, select Show schedule on event page. The editor adds a Schedule section to your draft, or opens the one already there. Check the preview and select Publish to make the section visible to guests. Later changes to visible schedule entries appear in that section automatically.
On your event page, guests see a clean, themed version of your timeline. Depending on the layout you choose for the schedule section in the page builder, it appears as a list, a grid, or date-grouped cards — all styled to match your event's theme.
Every detail you enter on an entry shows up:
If you've set up multiple areas, each one appears with its own heading (or, on some themes, an area label per entry) so guests can find their track quickly.
Signed-in guests can tap the heart on any entry to favorite it, and you'll see a running count of how many people have hearted each one. It's a lovely, lightweight way for guests to flag the sessions and moments they're most excited about. This appears automatically for signed-in guests; there's nothing extra you need to set up.
To change an entry, select it on the Schedule page (or open its menu and choose Edit entry). You can update the time, title, subtitle, description, image, day, or published state. To remove one, open its menu and select Delete entry — it disappears from the timeline right away.
You can also edit or delete a whole area from the area's menu. Deleting an area from the Schedule removes the entries inside it, so move anything you want to keep first. (Deleting the matching area from Areas & Seating is different: it only detaches it from the timeline and frees its tables — your schedule entries stay put.)
