QR check-in & attendance
Your going guests get a check-in pass; you scan it at the door with your phone, mark anyone without a phone by hand, and watch “Checked in N of M” climb. A fast, day-of way to see exactly who showed up.
Your going guests get a check-in pass; you scan it at the door with your phone, mark anyone without a phone by hand, and watch “Checked in N of M” climb. A fast, day-of way to see exactly who showed up.
RSVPs tell you who plans to come. Check-in tells you who actually walked through the door. Every guest who's going gets their own check-in pass, a QR code on their phone. At the door you point your phone camera at it, get an instant green check, and watch your headcount climb in real time. No clipboard, no spreadsheet, no guessing.
It's perfect for a guest-list door, a ticketed party, a workshop with limited seats, or any event where you want a clean record of attendance.
On a Standard or Premium event, passes are on from the start. The switch is Attendance QR code under Event page → Details & access ("Guests can present a QR code at check-in"). Turn it off and your guests stop seeing a pass. You can still scan any pass a guest already saved, and mark arrivals by hand.
A pass is for a guest who said Going and holds a place:
A guest's pass page holds their whole party: their own pass, one for each plus-one, and one for everyone you grouped them with (a family, a couple). One phone can bring the whole family through the door.
Each pass shows the guest's name, the QR code, your event's name and date, and "Show this at the door". It's styled in your event's theme, and the QR always sits on a light plate so any camera reads it, even in a dark theme. A screenshot is a complete pass, and the page suggests one, in case there's no signal at the venue. A pass keeps working until a couple of days after your event.
There's nothing to install. The scanner runs in your browser.
In your event dashboard, open Guests and select Scan passes, next to "Checked in N of M" at the top of the guest list. From the day before your event, the Overview has the same Scan passes button.
Your browser asks for permission to use the camera the first time. Tap Allow. The scanner uses your rear camera so you can point it at the guest's phone or a printed pass. If access is blocked, allow the camera in your browser's site permissions, then select Retry camera. Closing the scanner turns the camera off.
Line the code up inside the frame. As soon as it's read you'll see a green Checked in with the guest's name, and the tally ("4 of 40 checked in") moves. There's no button to press.
Select Scan another and keep the line moving.
The scanner also tells you when something needs a second look:
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Already checked in with a Duplicate tag | This pass was scanned before, at the time shown. Nothing changes, so a double scan never inflates your numbers. |
| Heads-up | The guest is checked in, but their reply changed after they saved the pass (for example they're now on the Waitlist, or said they can't go). It's your call. |
| This pass is for a different event | The pass belongs to another of your events. Nobody is checked in here. |
| This pass has expired | An old screenshot. Ask the guest to open their pass again, or mark them as arrived by hand. |
| That QR code isn't a check-in pass | It's some other code, such as a personal link or your event's page. |
Only you and your co-planners can check guests in. A guest who points their own camera at a pass, or anyone else who does, gets a page that says "Show this pass to your host at the door". Opening it never checks anyone in.
Not everyone has a phone at the door. A guest leaves it in the car, a battery dies, or someone arrives that you simply recognize. Mark them in from your guest list. No pass needed.
The row then shows Arrived · 7:42 PM (in your event's time zone). Made a mistake? The same menu, and the card, offer Undo arrival. Marking someone who's already in keeps their first arrival time.
As guests arrive, Checked in N of M keeps a running tally:
You'll find the tally at the top of the guest list, on the Overview from the day before your event, and in the scanner itself. After the event, the Overview keeps it as your record of who showed up.
